Police have booked separate cases against DMK Perambalur Parliamentary constituency candidate Seemanur Prabhu and Indiya Jananayaka Katchi candidate T.R. Pachamuthu for violating the model code of conduct while campaigning in the district recently.
No permissionThe case against Seemanur Prabhu was booked on Tuesday on a complaint lodged by Revenue Inspector Mayakrishnan of Vengalam village.
Police sources said the case was registered against Seemanur Prabhu for using vehicles without obtaining permission while canvassing at Vengalam and other villages and for installing party flags on the vehicles without getting consent, thereby violating the model code of conduct.
The police has registered a case under IPC section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 171 (H) (illegal payments in connection with election).
The case against Mr. Pachamuthu was booked for using vehicles without permission and installing flex boards without obtaining consent in Perambalur a few days ago.
