Students should keep abreast of new developments worldwide and look for new ways to do things, N. Ravi, Director, Kasturi and Sons Limited, said on Monday.

“After graduation, you cannot afford to rest on your laurels. For, education is a lifelong process,” Mr. Ravi, addressing students at the 18th Graduation Day of Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College here.

Exhorting graduates and postgraduates to keep updating their knowledge, Mr. Ravi urged them to improve their communication and life skills. Students coming out of the institution should look for new ways to enrich their life not just materially but also emotionally. “Continuous improvement in your knowledge, work, life and relationship with people around should be the goal as you step out of this institution,” said Mr. Ravi, who is also the chairman, India Chapter of the International Press Institute.

“Good education is one facet of your preparations. The other and equally important side is represented by sound values which will help you throughout your life,” he said. “Later in life when you are comfortable, think of lending a helping hand to students who follow you. The spirit of giving will be widely appreciated and will give you tremendous satisfaction as well,” he said.

He called upon young graduates and postgraduates to always remember their professors, institution and classmates wherever they were.

Mr. Ravi gave away degree certificates to 470 graduates and postgraduates.

College secretary and correspondent CA. Ammangi V. Balaji and Principal J. Radhika were present.
