The Joint Registrar of Cooperatives N.Mirunalini has asked the salesmen of fair price shops not to engage “outsiders” for assisting them.
Speaking at a training programme for salesmen of 1,130 fair price shops attached to the Cooperative Department organised here on Saturday, she said under no circumstances outsiders could be allowed to carry out the task of salesmen. It would create unnecessary problems even to those employed. Moreover, the salesmen could land in trouble if the outsiders indulged in “unwanted activities”.
Stating that the fair price shops have been rendering good service to the people, particularly the poor, Ms.Mirunalini said the employees should not give room for complaints. People are closely watching the activities in ration shops, and the employees should ensure at most honesty and integrity in exercising their responsibilities. They should provide equal importance to maintaining cordial relationship with customers.
As many as 16 salesmen were recognised at the programme for their meritorious service. Similarly, 16 others were given commendation certificates for good performance in selling “Indcoserve” tea powder.
K. Chithra, Deputy Registrar, and Rajkumar, Managing Director (In-Charge), Tiruchi District Cooperative Union, took part.
