Taken to Needamangalam

After formal questioning, he was taken immediately to Needamangalam for appearance before the Judicial Magistrate in connection with a complaint registered by Tiruvarur police that he had instructed the president of Rishiyur panchayat to demolish a group house during November, 2011. After getting Mr. Divaharan remanded in judicial custody, police would escort him back to the Tiruchi Central Prison, the source added. Divaharan had moved the Madras High Court for anticipatory bail, charging the government with political vendetta. On Wednesday, when questioned by Needamangalam police about Mr. Divaharan's whereabouts, his wife Hemalatha had reportedly claimed ignorance.
