Of the 200 in hospital with fever, only nine have dengue

Incidence of dengue fever has been brought under control in the district, said Collector K.Rajamani here on Monday.

Speaking after inaugurating an ambulance of the 108 Emergency Service here, Mr. Rajamani said currently only about 200 persons with fever were admitted to government hospitals in the district. Of this, only nine had dengue fever.

Mr. Rajamani said 2,000 workers had been deployed for carrying out measures to check incidence of fever. Dengue fever would be eradicated in the district soon.

On the flagging of the new ambulance service, he said the district had 30 vehicles under the 108 emergency service.

The additional vehicle would be deployed for the benefit of people living in and around Pulivalam. Till now, the ambulance had to be sent to Pulivalam from Thuraiyur.

The additional vehicle would greatly benefit people during emergencies in Pulivalam, the Collector added.
