“Check if cardholders are getting their due”

Commissioner of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection K.Rajaraman has instructed civil supplies officials to conduct frequent inspections to check and ensure prompt supply of essential commodities through the public distribution system.

Review meeting held

Speaking at a review meeting here on Thursday, Mr.Rajaraman suggested that the civil supplies officials visit households to verify whether ration card holders were getting their quota essential supplies every month.

Maintain records

He also instructed the department officials and PDS sales personnel to maintain the records properly.

Government officials should reach out to the masses in redressing their problems and grievances with a humanistic approach, he said.

Direct approach

Collector M.Vijayakumar said there were 263 ration shops in the district and the public could directly approach him if there were any complaints.
