Sporting black shirts, cadre of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam took out a procession from the party office here on Friday protesting against the failure of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) rule.

Led by the former union minister S.Regupathy, they distributed pamphlets to the members of the public, petty vendors, and shopkeepers.

Power cuts

Mr.Regupathy later told presspersons that unscheduled power cuts had adversely affected the people.

The State government had proved its incapacity in handling the crisis.

The rise in prices of milk and bus fares had hit the masses hard.

Periyannan Arasu, district secretary of the party, Kavithai Piththan, former MLA, Naina Mohamed, former municipal chairman, were among those who participated.

They marched down through the East Main Street, North Main, and Kamarajapuram in the town.
