A host of service activities were carried out by NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s Anglo Indian Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi at a one-day camp held at Ayyampatti village recently.
As part of the camp, the cadets carried out a cleaning exercise removing unwanted weeds and shrubs in the village. Besides planting saplings in and around the village, the cadets spent some time teaching the students of St. Magdaline Marina Primary School.
The parish priest of Ayyampatti Rev. Father Thomas John Julian highlighted the aims of NCC and the exposure the cadets would get while being part of the youth organisation. Mr. Johnson, an ex-serviceman, exhorted the cadets to serve society and help in building India as a strong nation, a press release said.
