Election for sixteen vacancies to the Senate of the Bharathidasan University will be held on July 16, according to its Registrar C. Thiruchelvam.
Two members from each of the eight districts such as Tiruchi, Karur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Perambalur and Ariyalur, which fall under the jurisdiction of Bharathidasan University, would be elected. Registered graduates are eligible to cast votes.
Mr. Thiruchelvam said that the notification for the election would be issued on June 1. The nomination for the election would begin on the same day. June 17 would be the last date for filing of nominations.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations would be June 23 and the polling would take place on July 16.
Nomination form along with related particulars could be obtained from the Registrar-cum-Returning Officer on a written requisition together with a Demand Draft for Rs.500 drawn in favour of “Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli – 620 024” either in person or by post. Those who wish to get the nomination form by post must enclose a self-addressed envelope stamped to the value of Rs.25.
