Marriage assistance of Rs. 1 lakh each given to two women

Inauguration of social welfare projects and distribution of assistance marked the Home Guards Day celebrations organised by the Tiruchi district home guards at Moovanur village near Thuraiyur recently.

The Tiruchi district home guards had adopted Moovanur and Vengaimandalam villages where it had carried out various social welfare projects, including installation of two reverse osmosis water plants at Moovanur school, renovation of school buildings and provision of additional infrastructure, and sinking of borewells and provision of hand pumps at two places at Moovanur besides at Vengaimandalam village.

The Additional Director General of Police, Home Guards, K. Muthukaruppan, inaugurated the welfare projects and distributed uniforms to school students besides handing over marriage assistance amount of Rs. 1 lakh each to two women members of home guards. The assistance was sponsored by A.L. Sirajuddin, Area Commander, Home Guards, Tiruchi district.

The Inspector General of Police, Home Guards, B.K. Ravi, IG, Central Zone, M. Ramasubramani, DIG, Tiruchi Range, A. Amalraj, Superintendent of Police, Tiruchi. R. Lalitha Lakshmi, Assistant Commandant General in Chief, Home Guards, A. Sivakumar, Area Commander, Home Guards, Tiruchi, A.L. Sirajuddin, and Area Commanders and Deputy Area Commanders of Tiruchi Range participated.
