“Aspiring leaders should have patience”

While stating that developing leadership qualities was not a one-day affair, Balraj Arunasalam, president of Toastmasters International, said that aspirant leaders have to have patience in learning lessons while dealing with obstacles and challenges.

Speaking at the 100th meeting of Tiruchi Toastmasters Club here on Sunday, he said that the graph of reaching the top position would not happen overnight. Aspiring leaders would have to learn lessons by handling tough situations. Mr. Arunasalam said that Toastmasters International had a number of tailored programmes to harness the leadership and public speaking skills. It had been giving exposure to its members on the nuances of leadership qualities.

District Director Ajantha Jayawardhana, Programme Quality Director Suganthi Periasamy, Club Growth Director Sarma Mahalingam, Division Director Mala Sivakumar, Tiruchi Toastmasters Club president Mythily Ramanan and others spoke.
