The district administration is gearing up for the smooth conduct of the car festival of the Sri Brahadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur on Friday.

Collector A. Annadurai on Tuesday inspected the arrangements being made for the festival and instructed the officials to ensure required amenities and security for devotees participating in the festival.

He directed the officials to arrange for adequate supply of drinking water, shelters and toilets for devotees.

All those organising annadhanams in view of the festival should obtain permission from the Food Safety officer, he said.

J. Mahesh, Superintendent of Police, M. Varadharaj, Thanjavur Corporation Commissioner, and other officials were present.
