Don’t be baffled of rattled, if someone near you dances all of a sudden.
A group of students of Jamal Mohamed College have launched a three-day awareness campaign at 14 locations on the need to wear helmets by two-wheeler riders.
So far, they have launched the campaign at nine centres adopting this strategy called ‘Flash Mob’ and they will launch similar awareness programme at five more centres on Friday.
“Helmet is a safety gadget but not all are fully aware of using it,” they say amidst their dance, creating awareness among the masses.
The programme is sponsored by Dream Entertainment Company to mark the launch of Femina Hyper Mall in the city.
This strategy has been popular in other States, particularly in Maharashtra when people who aim at creating some awareness for a social cause use dance at a public place.
“Any amount of our effort by organising street corner meetings or placard-based awareness rally will not drive home the point.
But with this, we can achieve our objective within seconds,” the students said.
So far, they have launched the programme at Chathram Bus Stand area, Railway Junction area, State Bank Road, and Cantonment.
