Upon completion of basic training, a total number of 486 Recruit Police Constables (RPC) successfully passed out from Police Recruit School (PRS) situated on the Tamil Nadu Special Police (TSP)–I Battalion campus here on Saturday. During the course of their four-month training, the RPCs were trained in various aspects, including parade, major and minor laws, firing, weapon training, bomb detection and disposal, VIP security, traffic control, driving, swimming, karate, yoga, first aid, and basics in computer. They will now undergo month-long practical training at the PRS starting Sunday.
An impressive passing out parade was held on the TSP-I Battalion premises in which the Additional Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, Sunil Kumar Singh, took the salute.
Exhorting the RPCs to discharge duties with utmost dedication and commitment, Mr. Singh said there was no place for indiscipline in the police force.
He called upon the recruit constables to sharpen their professional skills and remain physically fit .
The ADGP presented medals to recruit constables who emerged top in indoor and outdoor activities besides shooting. The overall best medal went to RPC R. Paramasivan.
The Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, M. Ramasubramani, Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Commandant, TSP-I Battalion, C. Jeyabalan, and senior police officers participated.
