1,596 cases settled for Rs.5.65 crore at Lok Adalats in Tiruchi district

A total of 1,596 cases were disposed leading to a settlement of Rs.5.65 crore at the Lok Adalat held at the courts in Tiruchi, Manapparai, Musiri, Lalgudi and Thuraiyur on Saturday.

As many as 485 cases pertaining to non-performing assets of 12 banks were settled for Rs.4.40 crore.

The adalat also settled 23 civil cases for Rs. 5.30 lakh eight cheque bouncing cases for Rs. 60.21 lakh.

R. Gurumurthy, Principal District Judge (in-charge), inaugurated the Adalat.

Judicial officers at the adalat processed the disputes through conciliatory talks.
