A 13-year-old girl died after she fell into a well at Mookan Paalam near Thuvarankurichi on Friday. The victim was identified as G.Dhanalakshmi, who entered ninth standard this year.
The girl was staying at her uncle’s house at Poolampatti in Sivaganga district and had come to her parents’ house near Mookan Palam. Police sources said the girl had accidentally slipped into the well, which had minimum water, and died.
Her father Ganesan who attempted to rescue her sustained injuries. He was referred to Manapparai Government Hospital for treatment. The Thuvarankurichi police are investigating.
