Film screenings as part of the first edition of International Children’s Film Festival of Kerala began in the city on Monday.

On the first day, Majid Majidi’s Children of Heaven and Chris Columbus’s Home Alone were the top favourites of the young delegates, many of whom were accompanied by their parents and teachers.

Students from tribal areas in Wayanad, Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta districts, and residents of orphanages across the State were part of the delegates. The food arrangements for the delegates are made at the Music College in Thycaud. Free autorickshaw services are available from the venues to the college and between the venues.

The screenings are being held at the Tagore theatre, Kairali, Nila, Sree and Kalabhavan theatres. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will officially inaugurate the week-long festival at the Tagore theatre on Tuesday.
