Two firms submit bids for NH bypass work

April 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:03 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The processing of the bids submitted for the four-laning of the 26.7-km NH-66 bypass stretch from Kazhakuttam to Mukkola commenced at the NHAI headquarters in New Delhi on Friday.

Multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) and Hyderabad-based KNRCL, a multi-domain infrastructure development organisation that executes the construction of expressways, highways and State highways, were in the fray, an NHAI source said.

The bids had been invited by the NHAI on Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) contract as there were no takers for the BOT mode. Details would be known by Monday, the source said.

The corridor is part of the 43-km NH-66 bypass conceived four decades ago from Kazhakuttom to Inchivila on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.
