Traffic restrictions in city today

Traffic restrictions will be in place in the city from 2 p.m. on Monday in connection with a public meeting and rally as part of the Global Nair Mahasangamam organised by the Samastha Nair Samajam.

The police said vehicles from the Vellayambalam side towards Thampanoor and East Fort would be diverted from Vellayambalam via Vazhuthacaud – Mettukada – Flyover – Ponnara Park towards Thampanoor and via Flyover – Choorakkatupalayam – Killippalam – Attakulangara towards East Fort.

Vehicles from Thampanoor towards the Peroorkada, Vattiyoorkavu, and Nedumangad sides would have to take the Thampanoor – Aristo Junction – Model School Junction – Bakery Junction – Vazhuthacaud – Vellayambalam route.

Vehicles from the Thampanoor side towards MC Road and the National Highway (NH) would have to go via Thampanoor – Aristo Junction – Model School Junction – Panavila – Flyover – Underpass – Asan Square – PMG – Pattom or via General Hospital Junction – Pattoor – Pettah – Chakka – Bypass – Kazhakootam.

Vehicles coming from MC Road/NH sides towards Thampanoor and East Fort were to go via Kesavadasapuram – Pattom – Kuravankonam – Kowdiar – Vellayambalam – Xanadu – Panavila – Model School – Aristo Junction towards Thampanoor and via Thampanoor Flyover – Choorakkatupalayam – Killippalam – Attakulangara towards East Fort.

Parking of vehicles would not be allowed along MG Road.

The public could call up the Traffic police, with suggestions or complaints on traffic, on 1099, 0471-2558731, 2558732, 94979 87001 and 94979 87002, the release added.
