In connection with the celebration of Students’ Day at Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School in the city, the students took over the administration of the school on Thursday.

At the inaugural ceremony, Principal of Christ Nagar College of Education Meenakshy Ramachandran spoke on the vital role played by teachers in today’s world. Keeping with the tradition of the school, Mubeen Basheer, a student representative, received the symbolic ‘golden key’ from Principal Mathew Arekalam after being sworn in as student Principal.

The day’s activities revolved around the theme ‘Alumer Desprit’ meaning ‘Kindle the Spirit.’

Armed with an array of teaching aids, the ‘student teachers’ set out to manage the school activities. The best student teachers were also honoured at a special assembly held at the end of the day.

Teachers honoured

At a function held at the school, the Principal handed over the symbolic key to the student leaders. The students honoured all the teachers and presented them with bouquets.
