August 21, 2014 10:56 am | Updated 10:56 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The 186 passengers of the Thiruvananthapuram-Dubai Air India Express IX 539 flight that returned to Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday following a technical snag were sent to Dubai in another AIE flight on Wednesday morning.

An airline official said although they offered the passengers, including 20 children, accommodation in hotels, the passengers preferred to stay at the terminal to avoid a second check-in and security clearance. At 4 a.m., the passengers were shifted to an Air India Express B 737-800 aircraft and the flight left for Dubai at 4.30 a.m.
