June 09, 2011 08:03 pm | Updated 08:03 pm IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The Thiruvanathapuram City will take steps to expeditiously implement the Rs.16-crore e-governance programme.

The decision was taken by a meeting of the Council held here on Thursday. The project, under the National e-Governance Plan, is aimed at improving services in public offices and making governance more citizen-centric.

The civic body will allocate Rs.10 crore for road work in the wake of the damage done by this spell of rain.

The Corporation will lay special emphasis on the development of newly added wards while earmarking funds for various projects, Mayor K. Chandrika said. The dates of the divisional council meeting for various sections were also announced.
