The Sastra Kalajatha taken out by the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad (KSSP), which began on January 26 and went around 40 centres across the district staging plays that sent out messages on the importance of environmental conservation and warnings to those who exploited the earth, will conclude at 6 p.m. at the Gandhi Park here on Friday.

The event, which went around the district staging two plays — Ee Bhoomi Aarudethanu , a sarcastic take on those commercialising the Earth, and Velichathe Snehikathe Irikanavilla , which exposes the superstitions and misconceptions triggered and nurtured by market forces and caste-religious quarters — will have T.N. Seema, MP, inaugurating the valedictory function. M.A. Siddique will talk on ‘Keralam Mannum Manassum.’ On Thursday, the jatha staged the plays at Government Law College, Kaladi, Kariyam, Chellamangalam, Vattavila and other places, according to a press release.
