Space Science meet

The 19th National Space Science Symposium, a biennial convention of researchers in the realms of atmospheric, space and planetary sciences and astronomy, began here on Tuesday with a call to use atmospheric and space science studies for societal development.

U.R. Rao, former chairman, ISRO, inaugurated the four-day event from Bengaluru over a video conference network.

K. Sivan, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, presided.

M. Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, who was the chief guest, said high resolution satellite imagery could help improve the accuracy of weather prediction.
