Scrutiny of expenses to begin today

The scrutiny of expenses of Assembly election candidates in the district will be held on Thursday and on May 9 and 13 at the PWD Rest House in Thycaud, District Collector Biju Prabhakar has said.

The first phase of scrutiny will be on Thursday and the second and third phases on the other two days.

The candidates should present their expenses with related documents in the register to the Expenditure Observer and the Assistant Expenditure Observer.

Constituencies

Candidates from the Nedumangad, Vamanapuram, Kazhakuttam, Vattiyurkavu, Thiruvananthapuram, Nemom and Aruvikkara constituencies need to present their expenses on Thursday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

In the afternoon session from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., candidates from the Varkala, Attingal, Chirayinkeezh, Parassala, Kattakada, Kovalam and Neyyattinkara constituencies need to present their expenses.

Directive to staff

The District Collector said that applications for postal votes would not be accepted directly at the Collectorate.

They would have to be sent by the individual employees by post.

The heads of the respective offices should ensure that employees get the chance to cast postal votes, he said.

Visit by EO

Election Observer (EO) Hari Om visited the violence-prone booths in Kovalam constituency on Wednesday.

He collected inputs from voters.

District Planning Officer N.K. Rajendran, who is the returning officer, and other officials accompanied him during his visit.
