Schools in district come out with flying colours

Students of schools in the district affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have performed well in the All-India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE), the results of which were published on Monday.

Jyothis Central School, Kazhakuttam, recorded cent per cent pass. Alan Mathew John with 94 per cent topped in Commerce stream while S. Shamsiya with 85 per cent bagged the top spot in Science stream.

At the Kairali Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary Public School, Nedumangad, out of the 14 students who appeared for the examination in Commerce stream, four secured distinction and five first class. In Science stream, the school registered 98 per cent pass, with nine distinctions and 28 first classes.

Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallam, and Sree Narayana Public School, Gurudevapuram, were the other schools which registered 100 per cent pass. At Christ Nagar, of the 145 students who appeared for the examination in Science stream, 101 students secured distinction. Ritika Nair and Anakha K. Vijay emerged toppers with 97.2 per cent.

Saraswathi Vidyalaya, Vattiyoorkavu, claimed the honour of fielding the maximum number of successful candidates for the examination. A total of 402 students passed from this institution, out of which 158 secured distinction and 171 got first class. In the Science stream, P.B. Dhanush with 96.2 per cent is the topper and in the Commerce stream Meenakshi Suresh and Reshmi Nair shared the top slot with 95 per cent.

Sree Chithira Tirunal Residential Central School, Karakonam, registered 100 per cent pass, with 24 out of the 47 students who appeared for the examination securing distinction. T.R. Lavanya is the topper with 94 per cent.

Out of the 17 students who appeared for the examinations at Shanthiniketan Senior Secondary School, Kunnumpuram, 11 secured distinction and six secured first class. Kokila S. Devan emerged the topper with 93 per cent.

Out of the 313 students who appeared for the examination at St. Thomas Central School, Mukkolakkal, 141 secured distinction and 144 first class. R. Karthika came first in Science stream with 96.8 per cent, while Hilal Jalaudeen topped in Commerce stream with 95 per cent. Indu Poornima bagged the top spot in Humanities stream with 94.2 per cent.

At Sree Vivekananda Memorial Public School, Neyyattinkara, 39 out of 40 students passed the examination.

At Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pangode, 150 students secured commendable grades. S. Aparna Gopan of Humanities stream topped with 478 marks out of 500. In Science stream, Yadhu Krishnan bagged the top spot scoring 476 out of 500.

At the Dr. G.R. Public School, Neyyattinkara, out of the 102 students who appeared for the examination, 46 got distinction and 50 secured first class.

Of the 71 students who appeared for the examination from St. Mary’s Residential Central School, Poojappura, 47 secured distinction and 23 bagged first class. Bharat Nandan and G.P. Gopika emerged the toppers with 94.4 per cent. At Vishwabharathy Public School, Neyyattinkara, 44 out of 64 students secured distinction while 20 bagged first class. D.M. Adarsh with 483 marks out of 500 is the top scorer.
