The Government UP School, Beemapally, has gained the distinction of being child-friendly.

Minister for Health V.S. Sivakumar declared the school child-friendly at a function organised at the school on Thursday.

He also inaugurated a children’s park set up at the school.

Mayor K. Chandrika released the logo of the school flag and ward councillor Patricia Joseph released the school emblem.

The district-level winners of the school at the Revenue District Youth Festival held recently were felicitated at the function.

Corporation councillor A.M. Iqbal released the school magazine.

The major attraction is the new children’s park equipped with latest game equipment and child-friendly activity centre. A specially designed reading room with the library, renovated computer lab and science lab and multimedia lab are the additional new facilities at the school.

The school also boasts a new home theatre system.

M.V. Jagan, Principal, said the school would utilise the available funds from the government to provide the children the best opportunities and a suitable environment for their over-all development.
