Road digging banned till August 15

Digging of roads in the State for laying utilities and other works has been banned till August 15 in view of the onset of monsoon, Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran has said. A directive in this regard was issued to officials by the Minister while reviewing the pre-monsoon works undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Kottayam districts here on Wednesday.

The Minister told the PWD officials that the government was not happy with the work executed by them during the pre-monsoon drive. At the meeting, Mr. Sudhakaran distributed laptops to official of the Roads and Bridges wing of the PWD.
