RBI appeal

March 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:33 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The Reserve Bank of India has appealed to the public to remit the income tax dues sufficiently in advance to avoid crowding and delays at the bank. In a statement here, the Regional Director of RBI said that the rush for remitting income tax dues at RBI towards the end of March had become unmanageable despite the bank opening several additional counters for the purpose.

Select branches of accredited agency banks – State Bank of India/ State Bank of Travancore/ other nationalised banks – in Thiruvananthapuram have been authorised to accept payment of income tax dues and most of these banks are also providing facilities for online payment of taxes. — Special Correspondent
