Rajasthan team visits Kudumbasree initiatives

A 10-member delegation from Rajasthan reached the city on Wednesday to understand the development models and women’s empowerment initiatives of the State.

The team, comprising Minister for Cooperation and Dairy Development Ajay Singh and Minister for Energy Pushpendra Singh, MLAs, and officials, was welcomed by District Kudumbasree Mission Coordinator K.R. Shyju and officials Reena Davis and Jerry Das.

The Rajasthan delegation visited Venganoor grama panchayat to see for itself the activities undertaken by Kudumbasree there. They visited the Kudumbasree community development society (CDS) office and interacted with the CDS chairperson and Kudumbasree workers to understand various initiatives there. They also visited the joint liability groups following best practices in farming to grow organic vegetables to get an idea of farming practices.

They also visited the Buds school at Venganoor to understand the functioning of these schools started by Kudumbasree for differently abled children.

They also visited the Snehitha gender help desk at Peroorkada and spent time with the Snehitha residents.

The delegation, which was exposed to diverse and progressive initiatives of Kudumbasree, said the models could be emulated in Rajasthan too.
