The Education Department has put in place an online system to accept applications, process them and decide on the disbursement of pre-matric scholarships to about 14 lakh students in the State.
Scholarship matters
A press note issued here on Tuesday by A. Shajahan, Director of Public Instruction, said this system would handle all scholarship-related matters relating to government, aided, recognised unaided, CBSE and ICSE schools.
Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi students are eligible to apply.
Website
Using the information submitted during the 15-day window allowed for such inputs, the department is engaged in identifying the eligible students from among the applicants.
All scholarship-related activities were being carried out using the website www.scholarship.itschool.
gov.in, the press note said.
The schools can upload the application and supporting documents of students applying for the scholarship.
Monitoring
The website allowed for monitoring of the scholarship-related process from the school level to that of the DPI.
The details of the bank accounts of schools have also been collected as part of this online exercise.
This is to enable speedy disbursement of scholarships to students who have applied from each school, the press note said.
