Excise and Ports Minister K. Babu has clarified that no request had been made by the State government to the Centre to takeover the Vizhinjam port project.
Addressing presspersons here on Friday, Mr. Babu said the State had only asked for financial assistance from the Centre for the project. “I do not know from where news contrary to it originated,” the Minister said. He said the government wanted to implement the project as early as possible.
