Pongala: awareness vehicle flagged off

Round-the-clock control room opened on Attukal temple premises

A vehicle to create awareness of nature among those coming to be a part of the Attukal Pongala festival was flagged off by Travancore Devaswom Board president Prayar Gopalakrishnan on the temple premises on Friday. The vehicle has been rolled out by the Natures Green Guardians Foundation.

City Police Commissioner G. Sparjan Kumar was present on the occasion.

A round-the-clock control room has been opened on the Attukal temple premises in connection with the Pongala festival. Besides helping the public, the control room integrates the functioning of various departments. A Pongala monitoring cell will also function at the Collectorate under the supervision of Deputy Collector V.R. Vinod. Contact the control room on 0471 2458942, a release said.
