A part of the girls’ hostel in the main campus of the Kerala University near here collpased on Saturday.

However, no one was injured in the incident as most of the inmates were not present in the hostel on account of Pooja holidays, police said.

A part of the building where bathrooms were located crashed down. It was in a bad shape and witnessed continuous seepage due to broken pipes, students said.

Police and fire department personnel were called in and the rubbles were searched to confirm that no one was trapped inside.
