Kudumbasree has brought out new guidelines for auditing the financial transactions of its three-tier organisational system to make it more effective and transparent.

The guidelines were released by Kudumbasree Excecutive Director S. Harikishore by handing it over to programme officer Pramod K. at a meeting of members of the Kudumbasree Accounting and Auditing Service Society (KAASS), the organisation’s permanent auditing system.

KAASS covers 2.7 lakh neighbourhood groups, 19,854 area development societies (ADS), and 1,073 community development societies (CDS).

There are as many as 43 groups with 324 members who are doing the auditing.

The guidelines, with several directions and audit models, aim at making the audit more efficient and unifying the current auditing system.

With this, the auditing in all neighbourhood groups, ADS, and CDS will be done in a uniform manner. It will also be more exact, besides being completed in a time-bound manner, as laid down in Kudumbasree’s bylaws.

Kudumbasree undertakes financial transactions running into crores of rupees through its three-tier system. The guidelines will also help look into these transactions in a precise manner and bring out audit reports.

To bring in more professionalism, the KAASS auditing teams will be given training related to its various schemes.
