The Cabinet has approved amendments to the Information Technology (Electronic Delivery of Services) Rules as part of a decision to bring delivery of more services under the e-district project.

Accordingly, issue of minority certificate by the Revenue Department and filing of Right to Information (RTI) applications and filing of complaints and grievances to all departments will be brought under the project.

The application fee for e-services will be Rs.17, including Rs.10 payable to the service provider. There is no need to affix court fee stamp on the application. For RTI applications, the fee will be Rs.22, including Rs.10 payable under the RTI Act.

All services covered under the Right to Services Act will be delivered as e-service (through Akshaya Kendras). Besides, more services will be identified and included for electronic delivery.

The Cabinet also decided to entrust the IT Mission with the launching of e-district public portal for routing e-services.
