Thousands of applications filed by citizens in the four taluks in Thiruvananthapuram will be taken up for disposal at a mass contact programme being organised by the district administration on Wednesday.
5,000 applications
J. Muhammed Musthafa, Additional District Magistrate and Deputy Collector (General), told a press conference here on Tuesday that about 5,000 applications for transfer of registry, financial assistance from the Chief Minister's relief fund, and various other welfare schemes would be taken up for consideration at the programme to be held at the Priyadarsini Hall.
“We hope to dispose of at least 50 per cent of the pending cases,” he said.
Nodal officers have been posted to coordinate the mass contact programme in each taluk.
While the programme at Neyyatinkara was scheduled for Thursday, the programme at Nedumangad would be conducted on Friday and the event at Chirayinkeezh on Saturday.
Mr. Musthafa said all MLAs and MPs representing constituencies in the district and heads of various departments were expected to participate in the programme. Mr. Musthafa said applications submitted to government offices under various departments would be taken up for clearance at the programme.
100-day action plan
Mr. Musthafa said the programme scheduled to be held every Saturday at taluk centres, was part of the UDF government's 100-day action plan.
