Sister Sathya of St. John’s Urban Health Centre inaugurates the Christmas celebrations at the Ananda Nilayam orphanage and widows’ home at Kuriathy in Thiruvananthapuram.

The children of the Ananda Nilayam orphanage and widows’ home at Kuriathy put their hands together to fashion a crib on Tuesday to usher in Christmas. Nearly 50 residents of the home decorated the premises with Christmas trees, stars, and festoons.

The children staged a cultural programme during which Santa Claus made an appearance, complete with sweets and gifts. He also presided over a lucky dip draw for the children.

The Christmas programme was inaugurated by Sister Sathya of St. John’s Urban Health Centre.

She also delivered the Christmas message.

B. Mohanan Nair, Kuriathy councillor, and K. Mahadevan, president of Karma, a socio-cultural organisation, were present on the occasion.
