KU youth fete in capital

The 39th Kerala University Youth Festival is all set to be conducted across nine venues spread across the city from March 27 to 31.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the five-day-long festival, which returns to the State capital after a gap of three years. Nearly 5,000 students from around 250 affiliated colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta are expected to participate in the 96 cultural events.

While the Senate Hall will be the main venue of the festival, competitions will also be held in venues arranged in the University College, Government Sanskrit College, Fine Arts College, Government Women’s College, Sri Swathi Thirunal College of Music, University Department of Music, and Government Arts College.

Chakyarkoothu, Nangiarkoothu and Vanchippattu are new events on the list of competitions.
