A bundle of answer sheets of the fourth semester MBA examinations of the University of Kerala were reportedly found by the roadside, near Kunnukuzhi, on Monday.
The answer sheets were from the Adoor examination centre of the Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK). The person who found the bundle reportedly took it to the office of a Malayalam television channel which subsequently handed it over to the office of the University Public Relations Officer. IMK Director J. Rajan, in his report submitted to the University Registrar, had sought a police inquiry into the incident.
Dr. Rajan told The Hindu that the bundle was among 10 others kept inside a locked room at the institute. Only one faculty member of the IMK had the key to the room. The answer sheets of the Strategic Management paper were found at a point near the residence of that faculty member, he said.
“These answer sheets had been double-evaluated and stored. No one had any need of taking them out. The results of these examinations had been sent to the CSS office in November 2012. The faculty member concerned has made it clear that the key to the room was not handed over to anyone. So it is clear that the bundle was not lost in transit. Only a police inquiry would reveal how a bundle in a locked room was found by the roadside,” he added.
Pro Vice Chancellor J. Prabhash said he had sought a report from the Registrar and that he expected it by Tuesday.
