July 12, 2014 01:16 pm | Updated April 22, 2016 01:31 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The city police on Friday arrested Vipin Raj, alias Ambu, 23, the prime accused in the murder of notorious goon Karali Anoop on July 6.

S. Ajeetha Begum, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the arrest was made from Ambu’s relative’s house at Vattappara. With this, nine of the 10 accused in the case have been nabbed. It was with Ambu that Anoop had picked up a quarrel on Sunday, reportedly after demanding money from him to buy liquor, A. Abhilash, Circle Inspector, Pettah, said. Anoop had beaten up Ambu, in retaliation for which he allegedly rounded up his friends and reached the workshop where Anoop sat with his friends. The accused was remanded in judicial custody.
