Jet Airways will commence daily flights from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Sharjah from October 30 using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The flight 9W 570 will depart from Thiruvananthapuram at 10.15 p.m. to arrive at Sharjah at 00.40 local time. In the return direction, the 9W 569 will depart from Sharjah at 1.40 p.m. local time to reach Thiruvananthapuram at 7 p.m. The airline will offer 16 premiere and 138 economy seats in the sector on a daily basis.
The airline is now operating a daily flight from Kochi to Sharjah. But, the flight is operated on all economy class basis. Sources said Jet Airways will be the first airline to offer business class in the Thiruvananthapuram- Sharjah- Thiruvananthapuram sector.
Another Dubai-based foreign carrier is also offering business class, but the flights are operated via Dubai. The airline has found that the business class traffic is on the increase from the State capital to Sharjah.
