Haritha Vidyalayam reality show for schools

To be telecast on Doordarshan and ViCTERS channel

Applications have been invited from lower and upper primary and high schools, both government-run and aided, for participating in the Haritha Vidyalayam reality show being jointly organised by IT@School, ViCTERS channel, the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and the State Institute of Education Technology.

The reality show will be telecast on Doordarshan and the ViCTERS channel from November 2.

The applications can be submitted online, a statement released by IT@School said.

The schools should fill the academic data requested on the application form on the IT@School and the Haritha Vidyalayam websites. Of the 10 remaining fields, three should be filled online.

The filled application forms can be submitted online at www.harithavidyalayam.org till October 10. School codes must be used for logging into the site.

The entries in the application forms can be edited online till the last date of submission.

A 30-slide CD presentation on the specialities and unique features of the school, accompanied by a covering letter from the principal, should be sent to the Haritha Vidyalayam Cell, IT@School, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram-12, by October 10.

Three schools from every educational district will be selected for the first round of the show.

Prizes

The school which wins the reality show will be awarded Rs.15 lakh.

The school which secures the second place will be awarded Rs.10 lakh, while the third best school will win Rs.5 lakh. Seven schools which reach the final round will be given Rs.2 lakh each. As many as 104 schools which reach the first round will win Rs.10,000 each.
