Fund arrears of local bodies cleared

Finance Minister K.M. Mani has directed to disburse three instalments of the development fund of local governments — Rs.1,014 crore — at one go. Each instalment comprises Rs.338 crore. With this, the government had cleared the development fund due to local bodies in the current financial year, Mr. Mani’s office said in a release here on Thursday.

He had ordered to raise the annual family income limit for appointment in dying in harness category in government and public sector enterprises from Rs.4.5 lakh to Rs.6 lakh. Mr. Mani would be attending a meeting of the Central Empowered Committee of Finance Ministers in Delhi on Monday.
