: Society should wake up to the fact that rituals that deviate from the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru pave the way for tragedies, a press note issued here by Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust president Swami Prakasananda on Monday said.

Those who parade elephants and make firework displays part of temple festivals should at least now heed the Guru’s warnings against that.

The influence of money in daily life and in temple rituals invites loss of lives.

It is to be hoped that the tragedy at the Puttingal temple would open the eyes of the government and that of the temple management, the press note quoted the secretary of the Guru Dharma Parcharana Sabha Swami Guruprasad as saying.
