Ensure facilities at Nirbhaya homes: panel

August 01, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:06 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has directed that basic infrastructure be arranged in all Nirbhaya homes in the State.

The commission, in its direction to the Social Justice Director, urged the official to take steps to ensure that the homes had enough employees.

Steps should be taken to ensure that these homes were registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, commission chairperson Shobha Koshy and member Philip Parakatt said.

The Social Justice Director was asked to issue instructions for preparation of an action plan for individual attention to the children as per the juvenile justice Act, and ensure that such attention and security were provided to them.
