Delays dampen Kerala University festive spirit

March 14, 2014 02:17 pm | Updated May 19, 2016 08:37 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The organising committee of the Kerala University Youth Festival that usually sees the presence of political bigwigs, is free of it this time around, as most of them are busy running around with election-related work.

In their absence, the future leaders of the University Union are working tirelessly to keep the events free of any glitches. Even so, the delays which were the common feature of all the events dampened the spirits a bit. Meanwhile, the bigwigs are not totally absent, as their photographs are prominently displayed on the Youth festival website.

The University College witnessed an amusing fight on Wednesday, between a fancy dress make-up man and the parents of some participants who failed to win any prize. Apparently, three students whom he applied grease paint on won the first three places in the competitions. Suspecting foul play, some parents chased him around. The man locked himself up in a room to escape from their fury.
