Congress to intensify stir against Centre

May 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The Congress will launch its third stage of agitation against the Centre’s “anti-people” policies on May 5 with dharnas before Central government offices in the respective Assembly constituency.

The first two stages were held February 4 and March 24. The State-level inauguration of the agitation will be carried out by KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran in front of the Kanyakulangara post office, near here.

The agitation will focus on communalisation of politics under the Modi government and demand for effective intervention to prevent the crash in rubber prices. The agitation will also focus on the opposition to the Meenakumari report and the land acquisition and labour bills.

Congress Ministers, MPs and MLAs, and DCC presidents will participate in the protest, a statement by KPCC general secretary Thampanoor Ravi said here on Monday.
