Singers Hariharan and Leslie Lewis jive it up with the students of Saraswathi Vidyalaya in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

A rapturous round of applause and ‘hurray’ greeted playback singer Hariharan as he started Krishna ne begane.. baro.. at Saraswathi Vidyalaya School, Vattiyoorkavu on Monday.

When the ‘Colonial Cousins’ (Hariharan and Leslie Lewis) took to the stage the young fans were apparently very delighted.

When the students said they were lucky to meet the singers, the latter said they were more lucky to have met the students.

The singers invited the students to join in the singing.

“Have all of you decided what you want to become in life,” asked Hariharan to the audience.

“By standard X you must know what you want to do in life and work hard to pursue your dream.

“This is a competitive world and there will be no time to think later. Education is important and you are given the best opportunity to study well and succeed in life,” he told the students.

And for music lovers, Leslie Lewis had only one advice. “Listen to music with your heart and you will hear the right music. Follow your heart and if you feel good about what you do, then pursue it,” he said.

As the guests were about to leave, the students demanded a song. And in seconds, the digital ‘shruthi’ box was turned on and they sang Krishna ne begane.

Soon there was a long queue for autographs. “Who would not be excited to get an autograph from them? We love their songs,” said Shraddha and her team who managed to get a sign amidst all the rush.
