The capital city will host the sixth State children’s educational film festival.
Being organised by the Education Department’s State Institute of Educational Technology, the festival will include screening and competition of films made by children for children.
The festival is aimed at familiarising children with film production, encouraging their attempts at film-making, and providing a platform at the State level to showcase their ventures.
Competitions will be held in two categories — films made by children and those made for children — in primary, secondary, senior secondary, and block resource centre categories.
Prizes will be given for best film, first and second runners-up, best screenplay, direction, cinematography, editing, sound recording, set designing, background music, animation, and dubbing.
Seminars and workshops on various aspects of film production will be held. Children’s films made within the country and abroad will be screened.
The SIET will present certificates to all students taking part in the film festival and film production workshops.
